MONOCEROS VASE - Unicorn Constellation

Atolls are vases made in single pieces, blown into molds shaped by me by hand, from sheet metal and mesh. The metal casts its texture in the glass, leaving room for experiment and surprise.

Each vase is different, using different color combinations, and no second one will ever be created the same. The colored spots are stained in the mass, meaning the dye was infused into the glass at the time of production, so the colors will never fade.

INSPIRATION

Atoll is a flat island, otherwise known as a lagoon, the formation of which is divided into several stages spread over many years. The slow, even laborious, but at the same time elaborate process of shaping the island is associated with artisanal methods of glassworking. On the other hand, the variety of colors is like an island shimmering among coral. Through Atole, I wanted to translate the organic nature into an utilitarian object.

DIMENSIONS

The vase has organic shapes therefore the dimensions are approximate. The dimensions of the vase are about 19x16x17 cm, the diameter of the hole is about 6,5 cm.

Atolls are handmade, and due to their unpredictable form of production, they sometimes feature imperfect finishes. This vase has a blemish in the glass near the opening. However, this blemish has been subjected to a thorough polishing process and is not dangerous when used. It is not possible to cut yourself while using the vase, however, it is an important visual element that you should take into consideration before purchasing the vase.

SIGNATURE

The vases are signed with the logo and the series number, as only 10 pieces of such vases were made. Sometimes the logo is not engraved perfectly - these are flaws of manual positioning of the vases within the laser working area.
